My resume got in the hands of Kelly Sitkin, the former Development Director, and I&#8217;ve been there ever since!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What attracted you the UW Carbone Cancer Center?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The mission and staff. I had a really great experience during my internship and wanted to continue to raise needed funds for cancer research, while growing and learning from my colleagues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you enjoy most or what is the most interesting part of your position?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This past year, I worked with the tournament team at the American Family Insurance Championship to bring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carbonesrace.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Race for Research<\/a> to their event week. It was an unbelievable experience to work with a generous group that is so passionate about the community and raising money for UW Carbone. We have a wonderful community in Wisconsin that wants to make a difference, and I love being able to engage with them and help them succeed their fundraising goals!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you feel your work contributes to the goals of the cancer center?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Absolutely! Our team raises money for the important research done at UW Carbone and connects the community with our wonderful researchers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can you share an elevator pitch for your area of expertise?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I work in Development at UW Carbone and raise money for cancer research through initiatives such as Race for Research, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mycarbone.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">myCarbone online giving<\/a> and community partner events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite place on the UW-Madison campus?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>State Street in the fall before a Badgers football game<\/p>\n<p><strong>What have you read lately and what was it about?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve never been an avid reader, but you can most certainly find me glued to the TV watching a documentary on incarceration, crime or murder. Some are tough to watch, yet extremely fascinating and important. I highly recommend TIME: The Kalief Browder Story, OJ: Made in America and Making a Murder: Part 2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your guilty pleasure?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Real Housewives! I can&#8217;t help but love it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who would you like to be for a day?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Beyonce, duh.
