Are you interested in measuring the binding affinity of your target biomolecule to another molecule? If so, you may want to try using MicroScale Thermophoresis (MST) to quantify your molecular interactions! As part of a UW2020 instrumentation grant, the UW Carbone Cancer Center’s Drug Development Core (DDC) Medicinal Chemistry Center has recently purchased Nanotemper Technologies’ Monolith NT.115 pico instrument. This new technology is both general (capable of measuring small molecule, peptide, protein, oligonucleotide, antibody, and other molecular interactions) and sensitive (wide dynamic range can measure Kds from pM to mM range). Coupled with all this versatility, the sample requirement for MST is low, and binding measurement is fast (about 15 minutes), and the operating software is easy to learn and use. Sound too good to be true? Then you’ll love the next part. With generous matching support from the UW Carbone Cancer Center, the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, and the Medicinal Chemistry Center, we are applying a limited time discount for supplies and instrument usage time until these funds run out. If you have questions about the technology, the instrument capabilities, or would like to schedule training on the Monolith NT.115 pico to start running your samples, please reach out to DDC Medicinal Chemistry facility manager Dr. John Feltenberger for more information.
